So we got here bout 3pm parked up and went for a stroll very nice town similar to noosa lots of backpackers everywhere and so many travel agencies trying to sell boat trips as Airlie beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday islands. In the evening there is plenty of bands playing really good atmosphere. We took a risk again and slept in a car park behind a sailing club. Next day was spent using the free Internet in McDonald's (only place with wifi in this bloody country) then we took the van and cruised round the coast for a bit we found a walking route through the forest saw two massive goannas and finally it led through to a beach with great views. Headed back to town for a swim in the huge lagoon as no one swims in the sea because of the jellyfish there are lots of box jellyfish that can kill you in a hour unless you have a sting proof wet suit! After we booked a trip for Thursday which is a power boat that races round the islands stopping at Whitehaven beach which is said to be the best beach in the world then stops for two hours snorkelling in the great barrier reef then a bush walk up a mountain for 360 views of the island can't wait to stuck in especially the snorkelling part. We shopped round and got the price down to about $125 which ain't to bad. Back to the van to get changed then out for a few drinks and some free pizza which was included in the boat deal (which was nice) after back to the wagon to catch some zzzzzs we decided to chance sleeping in the car park again. Woke up early to try get a few things done and found yet another surprise on the van a c*** ng penalty from the Airlie council for $200 was so pissed of we've spent $400 on parking tickets in 3 weeks so where off now to try sort it out and we came to a mutual Agreement that sleeping in government car parks is illegal and from now on we will just pay and stay in camp sites. No so much luck on the job front so far and still not sure what to do in 2 weeks when we give the van back might take a bus to Brisbane and look for work there oh yea
Another thing as well we chipped the windscreen of the van whilst on the highway and of course we didn't take any insurence so that's another issue so all in all a pretty s*** day so far! Oh well nothing a few tins of the local brew and my book on the beach can't solve . Just got back from the pub I bumped into a Italian guy I met in noosa and had
A catchup with him and then applied for about 30 jobs got a few instant emails and a interview but can't make the date so getting there slowly
