Yesterday was more of a traveling day. Tried to chill around the pool in the morning, but got distracted again, this time by a Chinese man coughing and spitting down the side of the pool after every length.
Packed up and jumped on another bus, this time 6 hours to Siem Reap. The time soon passed and we were picked up by a very friendly tuk tuk man from our hotel.
Spent the evening exploring the night market, as only a 10 minute walk to the centre from our hotel - it’s 100 times better than the last night market - very big filled with cheap massages ($3 for 30 minutes), $1 cocktails and $1 smoothies and most meals around $2.50 - much cheaper than Phnom Penh! Chris wasn’t too impressed with his $1 crepe though.. too crispy. Will have to try the fried ice-cream rolls next time.
Unfortunately Chris has now caught Nat’s cold so was a bit under the weather today with a very snotty nose. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our first day tuktuk-ing around the Ankor Wat city with Sam Sam the tuktuk man.
What was previously a city that got abandoned, is now full of jungle and broken temples. All different and very interesting to see. Saw 5 today and planning on seeing the biggies tomorrow.
Another evening spent at the night market with a $2.5 foot massage (well needed after 16000 steps), followed by an early night to help get rid of our colds!
