Hi everyone. Since our last note we have crossed into Argentina. We really like it here.
Our first stop was Mendoza. It is just accross from Santiago and still in an arid area. All the roads are lined with trees forming a canopy over the roads, that have hundreds of street bars and cafes! It is really cheap! We had a meal (Starter, main and bottle of wine) for just 8 pounds. It is also the wine capital of Argentina so we did a tasting tour. We also had a horse-riding trip into the lower Andes.
Then we took an overnight bus to Bariloche in Northern Patagonia. The buses are really comfy and long trips are easy- we even ended up playing Bingo with the rest of the bus. Needless to say we struggled with the numbers. Bariloche is picturesque. Built by Swiss imigrants it is in that style and surrounded by lakes. We had snowboarding lessons and are now self proclaimed masters of the baby slopes after only 2 hours. For those in the know, we are Goofy! It was really warm and Lee has an impressive burnt face and glasses mark- normaly sported by Chris Morgan. Our hostel was on the top floor of the tallest building and has the best views in town from the balcony. It is also famous for chocolate here (thats Beef, wine and chocolate- what a place!).
Going further south next into even colder climes!
