For our stay at Jasper we were accommodated at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge which is 5km from the town centre. The accommodation is built on the edge of Lake Beauvert in the style of rustic wooden logged cabins, very comfortable and very peaceful surrounds. Our evening meal was at the Moose's nook, beautiful meal shared a table with some of our tour group,
We have been travelling for a week now and getting to know the other members of our tour group so now after our free choice excursion we can catch up and share our experiences.
After breakfast I had a free hour before I need to be at the pickup point for my excursion, it was a lovely morning to stroll along the lake front. My free choice experience was white water rafting down the Athabasca river it was a wonderful ride with and very experienced guide full of knowledge and a very skilled rafter with many years of experience.
Reino had the morning free before he needed to be with his free choice group, so he took himself off to walk around the lake. Reino's free choice activity was a Harley Ride cruising along the highway, he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Murray & I back from our rafting caught the shuttle bus back into Jasper to meet up with Reino as he returned from his ride, we poked around the shops before heading back out to the lodge. A free evening so we sat out on the lodge deck with drinks and a share platter, beautiful end to a fun filled day.
