Calgary is probably the only disappoinment of our Rockies trip, not a lot to see or do. We arrived on Sunday and went for a walk around downtown, and went up Calgary tower. You can't see from the photos due to the clouds but from up the tower you can see all the way back to the Rockies Mountains. Calgary was a strange indoor world, elevated enclosed walkways so you never need to step outside to walk through the city. All the shops were in malls all linked with the walkways. Very bizarre place especially as all the doors automatically opened for you as you approached. On our second day we headed to Calgary Zoo, which was a lot better than expected from the outside. The best part of which was seeing the black and grizzly bears up close without having to run for your life! Craig also got to see a Moose at long last however it wasn't a proper one with big antlers. Another bizarre thing about Calgary was that there was also lots of german people for some reason. Anyway it at least gave us chance to relax for a few days and made us appreciate the rockies more when we headed back through.
