On our way to Prague, we stopped for the day in Munich. We dropped our bags off at our hostel, Jaeger's (can you guess their drink of choice?), and left to see the city.
We saw many sights including Neues Rathaus, Frauenkirche, Mary's Column, Theatinerkirche, and the Royal Residenz. We spent most of the afternoon walking around the Englischer Garten. This huge park houses a lake, numerous walking and biking trails, as well as three beer gardens.
To end off our day, in true Bavarian style, we had two large mugs of beer and a pretzel.
Munich was a relaxing stop because the city wasn't completely taken over by tourists. The locals all had a beer in hand, and I can only imagine what it would be like during Oktoberfest!
Danke Germany and Auf Weidersehen!
Next stop Czech Republic!
