We flew up from Santiago into Cuzco and did notice the altitude change, from 100m to 3400m above sea level. The next couple of days have been spent acclimatising. Colin´s appetite has increased again....i´ve no idea where he puts it!
The first restaurant was off the main square where he had another steak...but this time it wasn´t a coo, it was a poor defenseless Alpaca.
I feel potatoes are a very versatile vegetable, and i´m sure many of you will agree, but the Inka´s have increased their stature by harvesting 4000 varieties of the humble spud.
We´ve studied up on the amasing Inka culture and both feel it was a shame the Spanairds had to come and wreck their party.
Heading tomorrow to do the 4 day Inka Trail, climbing to 4500m, and will report back after that.
