Hey everyone,
I apologisefor this but this blog is going to be a bit lame. 2 days after my last blog I wasplanning on writing ablog butthought it would take a couple of hours to explain what happened in just 2 days, nowit is 10 days later and I have been having an absolutely awesome time. It feels like so long since I saw everyone. This will be a list and I will edit it later. Sincemy last blog I have been:
to Mui Ne with Jeanne a Frecnh girl who I met on the bus and have been travelling with up until 2 days ago,Clemens an Austrian guy also on the bus and Tayne (from Australia). We hiredmotobikes 2days and went to the sand dunes (so much fun) sand boarding and stuff, went for a walk up the 'fairy stream' the final day also amazing. Found a favourite bar called the pogo bar where I drank too much wine and beer (compared to how much i usuallydrink which is not much) I met somemore Swedish girls (they are everywhere), and some girls from Holland and a guy from England. The guys that worked there were really cool aswell.Spent the nights laying in a hammock on the sand by the beach..... They also have reallygood seafood in mui ne, its famousfor itskitesurfing but wayyyy too expensive.
Then got the overnight bus to Hue... nothing special.
Hue I didnt givetoo much of achance because it didnt compareto Mui Ne, had fun hiring motobike with Jeanne and ruiding through the countryside through the rice fields and such.
Then to Hanoi, I went the day before Jeanne so I decided to do the Halong bay trip, BIG mistake, won't go into details, wasa waste ofmoney ceptfor the awesome English girls I met, Hannah and Hannah. Went back to Hanoi aday early from thetrip as idleftmy passportin Hue so they wouldnt let me sleep on the boat, luckily Jeanne was still there.
Hanoi- I will fill in the blanks later, I enjoyed itbutliked the south better.
Left Hanoi 2 nights ago, got the night train to Lao Cai but decidedto skip Sapa and croos straight to China. So got straight on a busin China to Kunming- themost awesome scenerey I have ever seen. Met 2 polish guys on the bus,we were they only foreigners, the bus kept stopping, first time for an hour because a truck had rolled down a hill in front and secondtime because a truck broke down and there was no breakdown lane. It was amazing though because we went through acity that lookedlike it could hold close to halfamillion people and it was completelyempty, the government appearsto be building the city beforemoving people in because all thebuildings androads were new. Then I got the night train to Dali, wish I had stayed there for a few days because I got on abus in the morningup hereto Leijingbut the scenery on the way was again fantastic, snowcapped mountains, a biglake, traditional chinese architecture.
Leijing is really cool, the old town is reallyone of the best places I have been. Everything in China has come as a complete shock. Theres no traffic jams, the cities arent over crowded, its remarkablyclean and alot of other things. I think itmust be uniqueto the South West but id definitely say in terms of scenery itis better then anything I saw in South East asia.
Had 2 culture shocks. First the spitting, they spit everyt\where. Second the toilets, ive become accustomed to the asian squat toilets but in China they have no doors on the cubicles and in some cases theres not even cubicles just long troughs that leadto nowhere:-S luckily they have doors at the guesthouses. I think they will become my roof toilet (Scrubs reference).
Ok I will fix it up later, i need to get to bed, im trekking TIGER LEAPING GORGE for the next 2 days. So i will catch ya's upafter that. Hoping everything is good for everyone over there.Sorry if my contact with people is a bit sporratic. I tried calling you theother day to sayhappy 21st Pat but only spoke to your mum insted. Hope she passed on the message and that ya party was great!!!
