We had a lame hostel breakfast (they put sprinkles on their toast) and then we took a train to Haarlem, Netherlands. We got off at Haarlem Centraal Station and waited at a quaint tea house for the bus to take us into another part of town. Once we got off the bus it was a couple miles more of walking with luggage.
After checking-in, we rent bikes and take them into yet another town. We stop at the grocery store to get lunch to bring with us on our journey to the North Sea again. There was something about the store I fell in love with. We rode our bikes for hours past homes, windmills, into a national park, and finally to the North Sea. The park was beautiful and it was full of wildlife. There were "yaks" and wild horses everywhere. Julia even touched a "yak" on the ride back. The Sea was the coldest water I have ever felt. I put my feet in it (even though it was April). We ate our lunch on the beach, played in the sand, and stopped for a beer until we felt it was time to take the ride back.
We stopped at the hostel to shower and make lunch for the next day's bus ride back to Amsterdam and then to Paris. We leave to go out to dinner and we found an amazing place after about a 1/2 hour of biking. I got the most amazing vegetable lasagna of my life and Sylvia and I tried to steal a bottle of wine from the rack. No luck though. We rode back, went to the hostel's bar, met some weird American guy, and drank new beers. Sylvia and I left Julia with the weird kid while we rolled a blunt in the bike rental room. Totally not allowed and totally awesome. We meet back up with the two of them and we all go outside to smoke the blunt when the bar closes. Went inside, went to sleep, only to wake up a few hours later to catch a bus to Amsterdam. Our roommates must have hated us since we came in after 2am and had to get up at 5am to get the bus...
