Fjord Norway 8th - 12th August The trip down to the Fjords was via the high tundra area we had gone through on the way to Lensvik. From here we then descended westwards down a reasonably steep river valley, the river a beautiful blue colour with spectacular white water, we saw quite a few kayakers trying it out. Lensvik is as far north as we are going on this trip, and in the winter it can be very cold, parts of the Fjord can freeze over and snow is a permanent fixture for a couple of months. Because it is so far north, it doesn't really get properly dark at night, but in the winter it is dark very early in the day. Grain is also grown up here, but his is about as far north as it gets. 22nd July Stockholm We drove up the middle of lower Sweden to a town called Vaxjo where we camped for the night. The camp was one of the worst we had stayed in but it was beside a picturesque lake and it was very beautiful having our breakfast down beside it in the morning.
