After a rather heavy night getting up this morning was a difficult task. Not only was I parched, knackered and hungover, but I woke up in one of those post-drinking sweats which wasn't at all pleasant. Having been forced out of bed by Bonnie, we prepared ourselves for our trip to Shenzhen, just over the border in China. Ironically we would be getting the overland train which ends in China, being only a short train ride away (roughly 30 minutes).
Once we arrived at our destination it was bizarre as we had to go through customs just as if we were at the airport. The stamps on the passport are mounting up, especially after this trip! I am rather proud of the array of destination stamps on my passport. I even have quite a few full pages now!
We had lunch at a lovely Chinese and nursed the hangover with a few pots of green tea. Then it was time to hit the shops. Shop upon shop of fake this and that, as well as some real bargains. I managed to get a pair of wooden heels (very this season dahling!) and a Ralph Lauren polo shirt for only 200 Yuan - pretty impressive for a day's work! Will definitely be coming back on a shopping trip once I've saved up! I'm loving Asia!
After a long day's shopping we made it back home for a much needed rest. I'm going to start the next Jasper Fforde book "The Fourth Bear"...very excited!
