Hellllllllooooooooo?!?!...where has everyone gone?! I diligently check this board on a regular basis and the sark and wit that was so abundant but a month ago seems to have petered out to a mere trickle...Jimbo, nice photos, when do u go to Fiji? There's a reality TV show on here just now called Celebrity Love Island which has not only taken over one of the Fijian islands but also overtaken Big Brother in the TV ratings. It's full of t*** like Abi Titmuss and Calum Best and some irritating wee f**k that used to be in Hollyoaks. Incidentally, Big Brother this year is a total freak show. What else....well, you may have heard that Bob Geldof & wee Midge are tackling the G8 Summit (takes place in July in Gleneagles) and organising Live 8 - a series of concerts like Live Aid - as part of their campaign to cancel third world debt. There are loads of bands taking part in lots of different cities in Europe and America...including the mighty Duran Duran (incidentally I went to see them in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago, they were playing Birmingham City football ground so quite a big deal and they ROCKED) So you're going to Africa at just the right time as it's very high profile here again. Also, looking at your photos and reading your postcards must've had some kind of subliminal effect on me cos I took a wee maddy at the weekend and booked a 15 day trek in Sri Lanka for me and Alan. And yes, I must've been drunk at the time cos it involves HIKING, CYCLING and CANOEING as well as CAMPING in a rubber plantation?! Although I do get at least 2 days lying on my ar$e on a beach so that's okay...I booked it through a website that you'd like called responsibletravel.com which organises small group touring holidays that help local communities and the environment, so at least we're helping some of the tsunami-affected areas by going there. We go in October so that'll give you plenty of time to come back and clean all your walking gear and show me how it all works...

Hey. How is Kiwi country? Is New Zealand any colder than Australia? Started booking flights etc for Oz. Flying into and out of sydney and using a bus pass to travel up to Cairns before getting an internal flight back to Sydney.
My results have just come out and I have been awarded a Master's In Chemical Engineering with distinction (equavalent of a first) so pretty chuffed abouty that. Good thing is that my highest mark was in safety and loss prevention which is what my job with Total is based on.
Forget Edinbourgh, Aberdeen is the place to live!

I'm back however a bit tired after the league title celebrations! For the recoed Glasgow is better than edinburgh. Since I've been working in Edinburgh my work has been broken into, I nearly died on the M8 when my car spun and another attempted break in to my work was thwarted when I 'challenged' two dodgy characters at the front door. (I think it was Martin O'neil and John Robertson - after all money is tight since they are on dole money). It's great to see all the celeb footballers on the message board however their is only one James the Dado!
Jimbo
well its been a while since ive posted- but ive been in the ozzie outback and tazmania over the last couple of weeks- and internet access is somwehat limited when you're 300km from any town over 10 people. visted uluru (or ayres rock as it used to be called), which was amazing. it might be just a big lump of rock, but the sunsets and sunrises over it are amazing and it has a really unique aura about it. we traveled by bus for several days up from adelaide up to uluru, camping out at night in the outback. iit was a really good to travel by bus rather than fly, as it allows you to appreciate the size and emptiness of central australia. also spent a few days in tazmania off the southern coast, which is completly different from the outback. we even found snow on top of the mountain that overlooks hobart, the capital of tazmania. within 2 days my boots had red dust and ice on them- just shows what a diverse country this is.
pat and mary- my photos of the opera house in sydney are from the top of one of the pillars on the harbour bridge. i was keen to do the complete bridge walk- but it was far too expensive. i can alwys do it when i go back....

Junior Jimbo - you have gone all quiet - have you sprung off with Alice? As regards to the rest of the World - Sellick won the cup - Gordon Strachan is the new manager - European Union is falling apart - Saint Geldorf has given an edict that a million people should descend on Edinburgh before the G8 summit " to make poverty history" and another Live Aid will take place (called Live 8). When are you going to Africa ? - you could try get a wee homer reporting back to Blessed Midge Ure and be the "man on the ground". Leanne is flying around like a butterfly as she has her Grad Ball on Monday and she hopes to go to America in July - but never mind - the Bank of Marie is probably funding all the expense (Poverty history ? - not in this house !)
