Nicole and Bonnie's Aussie Adventures
Sunnybank Hills, Brisbo, Queensland
Hey Everyone!!! Wow it's been awhile since we checked into this website. Basically the day we got it going was the last time we put anything on it. Hopefully we can change that. Right now we are actually at a friend's house, so internet is FREE!!!! Hence the time to be able to put some pics on it. So wow, where to begin. We are still in Queensland, actually we've spent a great deal of time in this part of Australia. Partly because both our jobs have been situated here. Our first as you know in Toowoomba which is just an hour outside of Brisbane and our second was in the Whitsundays on Hayman Island (Airlie Beach). I'll put some pics of us housekeeping...spent 5 weeks on the island but we were ready to leave. There wasn't alot for us to do there and the ferry back to the mainland was an hour. The island consisted of the resort and the staff village!! That's about it. While there (when we weren't working) which was almost never...we were apparently allowed to use the resorts facilities and attractions. The first day off I had there myself and Cindy (our friend we met there who will be going to New Zealand with us) did get to take advantage of the "staff discount" and make a trip out to a pantoon situated in the very heart of the great barrier reef. It was extraordinary despite a cloudy day. We did snorkelling, went in a submarine and learned a few things about what we were actually seeing. Im not joking, what they say you will see, how beautiful it really is - is exactly what we saw. So many colors and things to see, the eyes could hardly handle it!!! It was amazing and the day went so quick, but there were many more great barrier reef experiences to come! (including my first dive -which for those who know my first experince with an "intro dive" left me hesitant to ever try it again)
