Awoken by Wallabies and Kookaburras...So startled Oscar that he began the day falling out of bed on to his butt (that's a fine for dad).. It was then off to the East Alligator River where Tasha (Big Bills grand daughter) showed us Crocs and flora.. Her brother taught us about throwing spears.. Dad had a go.. After a long bumpy drive where Oscar bashed himself on a window and bit his lip..we stopped at endless sites on the way.. However each gave us a great insight into Aboriginal life.. Was strange that we seemed to have a much better idea than many of the city dwelling older visitors from Melbourne and Sydney.. They just saw the indigenous people as drunk pikeys!! Although a generalisation would seem that the Aboriginal people are happier living off the land.. E...

Nitmulik or Katherine Gorge is a spiritual location in the middle the outback where the Aboriginal people have access to water and a stunning location carved out by the tail of serpent... A deep gorge reminiscent of the grand canyon.. A boat trip along the croc infested waters was preceded by a bat infested trees .. We actually visited two gorges which our local guide told us all about how the local people use many plants for all sorts of ailments and uses.. ...

Our outback road trip started today.. First stop the Litchfield National Park, home of the largest termite hills you can imagine... Highlight was Wangi Falls.. A massive waterfall, giant rock pool that Oscar and Dad swam out to..one of the few croc free swimming areas in the whole park.. Did not take long to dry off as it's thirty degrees plus..
