Monday July 21st
Departure: Grant Village Yellowstone National Park, WYOMING
Arrival: Bryce Canyon, UTAH
First of all sorry about posting all our pics last time. We did not know we selected them all to go in the album. Ooops!
Left at 6:30am to do our best at getting down Utah. We were going to head via Salt Lake City just cause its Salt Lake city. But we decided it would be faster to skip it.
Beautiful sights for an early morning drive. Well except for Bryce who decided to do the entire day trip in his PJ's and toque (eek!)
This day was the day of driving back and forth between states. The road we took ran right along the state lines so one minute we were in WY then Idaho then back in WY then Utah. We think we crossed six times.
WE really knew we were in Utah when we stopped at asmall gas station in the middle of no where no one was smiling, US flags everywhere, Bryce found a bottle of coca cola for 50 cents and pick up trucks had Rifles strapped to their windows. Oh and Utah's roads are lined with Dead animals, or pieces of them. Bryce seems to be able to guess what each fur piles is. Which is pretty impressive considering how fast some of the speed limits are on the roads here.
WE should mention though that everyone up to this point has been very friendly and chatty with us. Not sure whats up with Utah!?!
Managed to find a campsite for the night at the south campsite in Bryce Canyon. We felt a bit like under guard staying here. AS the rangers are pretty present. There was even a scrap between people about noise level.
We look forward to a hike thru the canyon tomorrow and to find Bryce a new T-shirt. AS the one he has kept since the last time he was here like over a decade ago is a bit worn out. Hope we picked a couple good pics for you all to get an idea of how spectacular the formations are here.
