Mary saw a great lake (Erie) for the first time in her life! Not a thrilling day otherwise. We rode on a rail to trail, and were accompanied by a track-fixing parade of honking big truck/train things which played havoc with the crossing signals. A day of canals! I hadn't really put together my knowledge of the Erie canal and the location of said lake! We started the day in defiance. A foggy morning!!! I pulled out my luggage and found my red blinky light. My sunglasses (and eye-rock guards) got so wet I had to remove them after a while. What a wonderful bike day! It was cool outside, and we had all-day cloud cover. I just rode and rode and rode. We went through neighborhoods, farms, a forest, a lake, and lots of small towns. We left just after 7 and got in at 12:30. Pretty good clip! The super 8 lady recommended a great place to eat- Richards Ranch House.
