In spite of the odds, I had no choice but to gun it. From the bottom of Mt Doom was a stretch of flat land inside a crater. I was in luck. Unfortunately, the word 'crater' does suggest that I would have to climb out of it at some point. This picture was taken after that climb. My legs were screaming.
