I'm back in Accokeek
What can I say! The last morning of my West Coast adventure consisted of me skipping, cartwheeling, tripping, and toe-sticking in the Pacific Ocean. My Uncle Charles [Bonner] took me to one of the Bay Area's many beaches; and, I'd say, it's a big deal to bounce around in the tide of an Ocean that makes the Atlantic (much love and respect to my first Ocean) look like a pond. Despite the cold water, I experienced the pure pleasure of acting like either a madwoman, or a little girl brave enough to play, but wise enough to show some caution and respect.
"Don't turn your back on the Ocean" my Uncle warned me. I didn't. At least not for any longer than a moment or two I as picked my way across the sand. The last thing anyone needs is to be dragged away by the sea god. Uncle C says, "You've got to stick your toes in the Pacific Ocean" but I believe more than just toes should make connection with our world's largest water source. Stick in some laughter, some playfulness, and some soul.
Peace and Ramblings,
Lena
