Hi All,
Well we have been having so much fun that we haven't had much time to blog! i've been busy brushing and flossing whilst the girls have been cramming in as much as they can into their tight schedule!
Picking up where we last left off, the girls went on their way to Vang Vieng, a place in Laos that is very famous for 'tubing' this is where you hire a tractor tyre inner tube and then take it down to the river where there are loads of bars, swings, zip wires and slides. You get very drunk and do things youwouldn't usually dare! The girls both swung from a very high swing dropping themselves from great height into the river and also did one of the zip wires - they met some fantastic people and everyone was in a party mood! Drinking and dancing started early and several bruises later they got in their tubes and may their way on the journey (10 mins max they thought) down the river back to the town to get their tubes back by the deadline time. 1.5 hours later, wet and freezing they pulled themselves and their tubes out of the river in the dark with 2 mins to spare before the deadline! After some hot showers and wrapping themselves in hoodies, scarves and hats they made their way into town to enjoy the other delight of Vang Vieng - restaurants that show episode after episode of Friends! It was a great but exhausting day and we all tucked ourselves up to bed at 8pm!! (those girls are crazy kids!!).
The next morning it was on the move again for a brief visit to Luang Prabang - the nicest place in Laos! After 6 hours on a bus which drove the longest, windiest road EVER - All with headaches as Kathryn wouldn't shut up and made everyone on board talk to each other we arrived at our hostel which was lovely (apart from the roosters and very cold shack like room!). WE dumped our stuff and went up to a temple on a hill but just missed sunset and then after more shopping around the fab night market we settled around the fire for some drinks and talked travelling all night with the others from the hostel.
After realising they couldn't get to Hanoi any other way (well unless you include the 30 hour bus journey) the girls booked a flight the next morning leaving that afternoon for Vietnam. They spent the morning enjoying Luang Prabang and then it after a valium or two they made it on their way to the next country - a new found discovery also happened on the plane - Kathryn tried a tuna mayo roll and loved it!!
Anyway, that is all from Laos - Vietnam coming soon...
Keep flossing....
