After the beautiful Lake Toba, we took the flight from Medan to Kuala Lumpur. We stayed in KL for three nights and two days. After living in Bangkok for three months, KL seems surprisingly small actually. But I'm not saying it as a negative side - you can handle KL, where as Bangkok in the beginning is a big mess.
My special tip for people going to KL is this beautiful Italian restaurant called Delucca. It's located on Jalan Mesui near Bukit Bintang. It's a really lovely place to have dinner, but it was even better during lunch hour. (Yes, we ate two times there - that's how good I thought it was!)They have an amazing selection of dishes during lunch and the atmosphere is really nice. And they also have a nice wine selection, which seems like a luxury in the non-wine drinking South East Asia.
Another favourite thing of mine in KL is the Pavilion. It's a mall located in the city center with a nice selection of shops and a very good food court (try the teppanyaki and Cupcake Chic!). I've also heard that next to Pavilion, in the Marriot hotel, there is an amazing japanese restaurant - Gonbei! Another nice thing to do in KL is to go to the park located near the Petronas Twin Towers - get something to eat or drink from the KLCC-mall and go spend some time in the beautiful park!
For me, KL was small and sweet. Perfect for a few days. I would love to spend more time there someone who lives there, who could introduce some local culture! Also, I would have liked to visit the zoo! And maybe the caves too.
