Am writing this sat in my favourite cafe in Siem Reap, does the best coffee by far and nutella on toast (which is one of the only chocolate based things that taste the same out here!)
Have just had a late brunch with Carolyn and we're now sat watching the world go by which is lovely, there's a nice breeze and it's cloudy so not too hot!
Has been an excellent first few days back. Almost straight away it felt like we'd never left even though I've been gone for over a year now. It's so nice to settle back into a place so quickly - was a bit worried that I would be disappointed coming back after having such a great time last time.
School has been brilliant and the children are just as lovely as I remember them - still as excited and keen to learn as ever! Will write a proper post about the school and kids at some point. Have already taken loads of photos and videos too and they'll be uploaded at some point.
Had a great night last night visiting an old favourite restaurant and then drinks in Angkor famous and Angkor what? Was really good to be able to catch up with old friends and it felt even more like the year had never happened!
In typical Cambodian style a lightening storm meant that we didn't have power for most of thursday. Went off about 2 and was still off when we headed out for food about 7. Biggest downside to no electricity is that the water is pumped electrically so the tank doesnt get refilled when you use the water which means you can't have a shower and if it goes on too long the toilet stops flushing as well! Thankfully by the time we got back from the quiz (we came 4th) we had power again.
Don't really have any plans for the rest of the day - just enjoying not having anywhere I have to go or do.
