So.....today has been quite a busy day with our increasingly amusing schedule causing us to cover 3 countries today. We woke up in Sunny Prague, spent the afternoon in Slovakia in its debatable "capital" of Bratislava whose entire population seemed to consist of Stag Parties, and we're now about to go to sleep in Budapest in Hungary. No rest for the wickid! Our last day in Prague was an interesting one. We seem to have a talent for choosing accomodation in the most shady districts going. After having a near miss with a hefty fine from the Czech Police for jay walking (or rather running...towards their police van actually, not the most subtle of moves, I must admit), we were forced to take the subway the next afternoon and experience the culture that is druggies injecting themselves, oh the joy! This morning we had the delight of sharing a train carriage with an alcoholic tramp who lay splayed out on the three seats opposite us, and whose worryingly thin trousers didn't leave alot to the imagination. Luckily we ran into some lovely and fairly normal Americans who we spent this afternoon with exploring (and I use this term lightly) Bratislava, all three streets of it!! And now we're in Budapest. And after reading not to stray from the well lit streets, just had to walk down one of the darkest allies going to get back to our hostel after dinner, passing a mere one ambulance tending to a mugging/murder, so it's all good. Now off to bed and locking our door safely behind us. Tomorrow we're going to Heroes Square and the famous Hungarian Baths for a spot of pampering. Hopefully will write soon.
