Ben and Marie's American Road Trip
Today, we woke up in the Historic Route 66 KOA camp and the showers were horrendous, like a leaky gutter. But after we were ready, we went to McDonald's to sponge off the wifi and accidentally bought lunch, I forget how many McDonald's we have had already. We FaceTimed home from the car park and then set off for central St. Louis. We were heading for the Gateway Arch, 630 feet high and the tallest monument in the States. Seeing it up close was the only way to justify its actual size, its massive. We took some photos of it and then went underneath it to watch the short film on how it was built. It took around 2 years and nobody actually died building it, considering the height, I was quite impressed, especially as it was in the sixties. After the Arch we had quite a drive to Indianapolis, so we set off, and arrived in Indianapolis later than afternoon. We were camping again tonight and we got set up in the car around 10:30, that was shortly after popping to Walmart for some "essentials", very necessary of course. We both walked to the restrooms and brushed our teeth before turning in for the night, Marie was asleep in minutes.
