Having takne the worst bus journey ever possibly to Nha Trang we were relieved to eventually find a hotel that was nice and cheap. That morning we got some breakfast and then proceeded to rent bicycles for the afternoon, we explored the town which can be described as a touristy beach side resort town that although has lost its character on the beach side strip, retians it in the back streets which most tourists would not bother venturing into; but we managed to get a good feel of the town i reckon. That afternoon we went to the mud baths which Nha Trang is renoen for. We spent the best part of 4 and a half hours there including lunch; sounds a bit girly and to be honest it probably was but we had sweet FA to do and we still enjoyed ourselves pissing around in the hot springs, the natural spring hot spring hot tub and the pool despite the weather being very overclouded and even drizling at one point. That eveing we went out for some lash and found a very good bar near our hotel and took full advantage of their generous happy hour.
Day 2 was spent renting motorbikes and exploring the full extent of the towns adjacent to it on either side including the nearby port. However it got off to a bad start when I (Ben) ran out of fuel on the way to the petrol station as we began with literally no fuel. Will therefore set off to get me and himself some fuel. He came back with petrol in a 1 litre bottle (the bikes had a 4 litre tank). I filled up my bike and then drove to the station to fill up the rest of my tank. When we arrived I realised Will had inadvertantly paid 10 times the going rate for fuel and after pointing this out we managed to get most of the overspend back but still ended up paying double. Despite that minor hitch we did enjoy the rest of the day; enjoying our exploring very much indeed (my first experience riding a motorbike).
On our 3rd day we went on a boat trip having spotted that this would be the best weather according to the forecast and like Hanoi the forecast was correct and we had a beautiful day of sun with a slight sea breeze. The boat trip was dubbed as a party boat and to be fair we had a pretty good time. During the day we wnr snorkelling, had lunch went to an aquarioum and to a great beach for watersports and volleyball and enjoyed a floating bar. Copius amounts of fluids were consumed by most of the boat's encumbents and we met some quite cool people including a Swedish guy called Jonas (who Will ended up seeing at the full moon party nearly a month later), god have we met alot of Swedish people so far, a trend which continues throughout our trip to date. Typically again we got sun burnt due to the wind disguising the heat of the sun.
That evening we got a bus to Saigon that for once went without a hitch and was fairly comfortable.......
