Well guys this is the first entry of my blog! Just thought i'd keep you all updated on what I am getting up to in Sevilla, Spain!
Arrived here last tuesday in the evening with Hannah who kindly offered to come out with me for a few days to start me off! We managed to get a taxi to Triana where our hostel is but the taximan decided to drop us off about 1/4 mile away which is long enough when you've got suitcases to lug about! Luckily a friendly American guy stopped to help us most of the way! The hostel is cute and the people who work here are really friendly which helps! There is a roof terrace with hammocks, an internet room and kitchen! Breakfast is only toast but they have HUGE tubs of chocolate spread (spanish nutella equivalent!) to smother it in!!
Hannah and I spent our first day in Seville looking around the centre of the city and getting our bearings. It rained almost all day so we had to buy an umbrella! We, of course, found Seville's equivalent to Oxford Circus shopping in the meantime!!! Zara, Mango, H&M, Bershka, The Body Shop, Mcdonalds, Burger King and not forgetting Starbucks - they're all here!! I found an amazing pyjama shop!!! Also came across pay as you go bicycles which look pretty cool and loads of horse and traps that take you on tours around the city. In the evening we went to look at a flat across town and then made pasta for dinner back at the hostel. Unfortunately, the people from the flat chose someone else so we were back to square one!
Day two in the Big Brother Seville and we concentrated on important things like visiting the university and contacting people about flats. I also purchased a spanish mobile for only 29euros completely in spanish! Go me! Weather better today yay! Dinner was nachos handmade by Hannah and Bianca back the hostel!
Hannah's last day with me and we decided to take a trip to 'Plaza de Espana' where they apparently filmed 4 seconds of a Star Wars film!? It is absolutely stunning! The building is a semi circle and covered in painted tiles, it looks like a palace! There is a huge fountain in the middle where the horse and traps take tourists round. We sat on the side of the fountain eating Calippos and Hannah dipped her feet in, it was a hot hot day! Got bus to airport with H to drop her off - bit emotional obviously!
