Day 17
After realizing that Haifa was as boring during the day as it was at night, we decided to check out of our hostel, the Port Inn, a day early and headed North towards Ako (Acre) to see what there was to do up there.
We grabbed a Sherut (minibus cab) up there and walked our way into the old city. As apparently all we do is eat (thanks Jamie) we of course had to grab a bite as soon as we got there. I can safely say that this was the worst meal of our trip so far.
We were swindled into this small shop with promises of a cheap meal deal including a schnitzel sandwich and a drink. However we soon found out that the drink was some 200mL rip off cola and the sandwich just tasted terrible.
From there we headed down to the port of the old city where we amused ourselves with a giant whale (made of rock) for quite some time. We then explored the markets, going into every store we walked passed hunting for a pocket sized backgammon. After our hunt proved fruitless we thought we should do something touristy and headed into the Templar tunnels and followed the audio guide around the fortress and knights rooms.
After amusing ourselves with the old city as much as we could and taking as many photos as possible we headed back to Haifa to grab our bags from the hostel and head back to Tel aviv. This was delayed however once we got to Haifa after Arryn required a crepe which he had eaten the night before (but didn't get because the machine broke) and we stopped past the Bahai Gardens for a quick look.
We got back to Tel Aviv by 7:30 and after a quick chill we were once again in pursuit of food, grabbing some awesome burgers and attempting to find some crepes once again. Before we knew it, it was midnight and we as nor found any crepes and so we all headed home. After a couple of good movies and a nice chillout I finally crashed at 3am.
