Laos is probably the most naturally beautiful country we have visited. It is just so green! We travelled there the morning after our wedding as our Thai visas expired that day. Crossing the border consisted of a 5 minute trip in a tiny rowboat across the Mekong and we were there!
First stop was the Gibbon Experience. We spent 3 days living in treehouses 150m high, and zip lining through (and above) the forest to get around. It was a lot of fun, although sadly no Gibbon sightings (and never any real chance of a sighting, according to one honest guide).
slowboat to Luang Prabang, LP, Vang Vieng, Vientiane, Sala Kong Lo, Pakse, Don Dhet
