Well hello all! Once again it is time for a catch up of my antics and doings? So where to start?? Well as I said in my last postcard, our whole gang went out on the night of the 19th, and what a night it was! Yup we had a great dinner accompanied by several Pisco Sours, and many other cocktail concoctions!! After the restaurant we headed out into Puno town and found a cool bar that played rock music on request! Suffice to say that we danced the night away and had a good night! On the morning of the 20th I got up at 6am to say goodbye to all the guys who were leaving, which was everyone except David and I! Then I went back to sleep with a hang over! At midday I woke up with a second hang over and wasn?t too impressed. I spent the early afternoon on the net sorting stuff out for my American stint of the trip, and then went back to the hotel. At around 3pm David, Paul and I got the bus to Arequipa, which was quite comfortable. It was late when we arrived so we went out to the shopping center and I had my first Burger King in a long time! Then it was back to the hotel and bed! The morning of the 21st and we were up early again and on another bus, this time to Colca Canyon. The journey was long but we stopped to see a roadside market and some offering mounds. We arrived at our hotel around 2pm and had a very nice lunch, which included alpaca meat, quite nice too. In the late afternoon we headed to a local thermal spring and relaxed in the hot waters until evening. Then it was back to the hotel for a game of chess, dinner and several Cerveza beers!  On the 22nd we were up at 5am and made our way to the true Colca Canyon and watched Condor?s riding the thermals, which was very impressive! The Condor?s are truly massive creatures and very majestic. Afterwards we traveled to the town of Chivay for lunch and we also visited another tow to see its church. After that we had the long return journey to Arequipa. We arrived back in Arequipa around 4pm and decided we would go to the cinema that evening. Our guide Paul brought his fiancé along too and we had a good night before returning to our hotel. We got up late on the morning of the 23rd and went for lunch at a place called Déjà vu, nice kebabs! Then Dave and I visited the monasterio de san catalina . It was a very interesting place and we had a guide show us around, she was alright too! After that I went to FedEx and spent a small fortune sending some stuff home! In the evening Dave and I went to an Italian restaurant for dinner before we met up with Paul and caught an overnight bus to Nasca. On the 24th we arrived in Nasca around 5am. We checked into our hotel and went to sleep for a few hours. Then we were up and about again and straight to the airport where I took a flight over the strange Nasca Lines! The Nasca Lines we quite impressive and I really enjoyed flying in a really small plane again! It reminded me of the time I took flying lessons in one, want to do that again now! After the Nasca Lines we took a tour bus to Chauchilla Cemetery. At this cemetery you can see pre Incan graves and the mummies that reside in them because the graves have been excavated in recent times, or they have been plundered by grave robbers! It was quite impressive. We spent the rest of the day chilling at our hotel with a dip in the pool and then we had dinner at the hotel with another Tucan Travel group. Today, the 25th we took a bus to a small oasis town near Ica. There Dave and I took a sang buggy tour out into the mighty sand dunes, home to one of the worlds tallest dunes! Out there we went sand boarding and that was great fun, if not a little sandy!! Then we had lunch in the oasis before getting a local bus to take us the rest of the way  to Pisco. Here we have just chilled out and the plan is to have dinner in our hotel. Tomorrow is our last day on this tour? wow, it?s gone quite quickly! And so we are up to date, and I shall try and get another postcard up before I leave for LA on the early morning of the 29th! Until next time, take care and see you all in seven and a half weeks!!!! John aka Baity aka Jersey.
