Hello Everyone:
I hope that you all are doing well. I hear that you are having a heat wave...wonder if it is a warm as it is hear:) It's very warm and humid most days down here.....it's nice to atleast have some warm weather though!! So I can't complain.....
This week has been mostly orientation week...fun stuff. It's SO interesting that I find my mind wondering from what I should be listening to:) We also took a trip to Bryan Bay this last Sunday...you probably saw the pictures!! I even got to take my first dip in an Austranian ocean and it was very fun. I guess that there was a warning out for jellyfish that day but I didn't even see the sign:) and I heard of a few people from Eau Claire that actually got stung.....I'm glad that I was paying attention!! Bayron Bay isvery beautiful there and the sand is very smooth but it sticks to almost everything you touch. I got a nice tan though...I didn't burn because I reapplied my sunscreen almost every hour....so you don't need to worry about me being in that Australian sun!! Tomorrow we get to go to a Koala hospital on campus and then plant a tree....should be kind of enteraining....better than what I have been sitting through for the last few days!!!
I met 4 other girls from Eau Claire. They seem really nice and I think that I will get along with them just fine!! I will probably be traveling around Oz with them so that would make about 8 girls in our group. It should be fun traveling in a large group of people. I have not gotten 4 out of 5 of my flatmates. They all seem really nice and I seem to get along with all of them just fine. I have 3 from Australia, 1 from California, and 1 from Spain!!! I am actually lucky because there are alot of people from MN, and WI and alot of people I know have alot of people from MN and WI in their flats with them, so I am lucky to have such a diverse group of people in my flat and to be the only one from WI in my flat!!!
I am one the quiet side of my flat and most of my flatmates leaving to do the partying so as of yet it seems to be a good place that I am living in!!! The campus has this HUGE hill and I would say that it is about 3 times as long as the Eau Claire hill but not as steep so you won't have to worry about me getting out of shape for Eau Claire. I do enjoy the walk though because everything is so green here and I just like to look at all of the scenery whle on my up/down!! But I did have to climb that sucker twice today and it was a killer....let me tell you!! I also made my first burger last night.....I will be one mean burger making machine next time most you will see me;)
It has been good hearing from you on the message board....I was wondering if anyone would figure out how to work it......but all you smart people seemed to have figured it out!!!! So until next time.....
That's all Folks
Australian Allison
P.S. I check under and in my bed every night for cockroaches!! My biggest fear is having one in my room.............so the cockroach count this far is 0!!!! (Let's keep it that way)
