Today we went to Alligator Gorge - we had a great time crossing the water on rocks (at least 10 times). We had to go through a Narrow Gorge, it was very dark and at the same time loos for rocks in the water to step on. At the same time as this we had to make sure we did not step on black caterpillars - they were everywhere. While I was down there it reminded me off the poem that goes:
"One bright day in the middle of the night the Pacific Ocean caught alight, the deaf man heard it, the blind man saw it and the dumb man called the fire brigade. The firebrigade ran over a dead dog and 1/2 killed it. They put out the fire with petrol." "2nd Little pig"
Today we only have to do half a days driving - in the other half we went to Alligator Gorge. We slip down the handrails to teh bottom of the gorge. I'm sure glad that I did not take my jumper because it was hot. The best thing I liked about the gorge was crossing the water on rocks. On one part I had to jump for a rock and I nearly got wet. "Littlest Piglet"
Alligator gorge is part of the Flinders ranges that we have driven through. To get down to gorge level we had to walk down a milllion steps - I preferred to slide down on the hand rail. Mum played it safe on the steps. It was a very beautiful gorge with high cliffs on one side. At the other end of the gorge we had to walk up a ramp track to get on top of a hill. "1st little pig."
