Today we booked in for a day trip to whistler! We were told it was snowing
Today and whistler is good for a guarantee of snow! We were picked up by our tour guide Andrew and he drove us along with 2 other families on the 2 hour drive to whistler, the views I saw today were the most beautiful I've ever seen and don't think anything could top them! Just the drive around the mountains with just water, Mountains and snow was amazing! We had a few stops on the way up, one to see the third largest waterfall in Canada, called Shannon falls (we will see the largest waterfall niagara falls later on in our trip :) ) another stop was to see a group of bald eyed eagle's that gather around a lake to eat salmon that have floated down when they are Dead, these eagles can stretch out to 2 meters! And their heads are white as the snow!
We then made our way into whistler, wow! We started in the town and we decided to do a gondola ride called peak to peak.. This wasn't the most ideal activity for me to do cause of my fear of the heights! You first had to get a ski lift up to the very top of the mountain and then get on a massive gondola that can hold 20 people and go from mountain to the other mountain! The thing that's so amazing and scary is because it has only 4 beams holding it up and the middle is free so your going over a massive height on just wires, also there are two that have a glass bottom and of course Oliver wanted to go on that! I was quite proud of Myself as I wasn't going to do it! Guess I faced my fears today :) tomorrow I think we are exploring the city and doing a bit more shopping! Hope I'll still have room for NY shopping! Love jess
