First stop this morning was Mt Tabour... The most amazing church sits on top - the church of the Transfiguration. Shrouded in heavy mist we had mass in the church. The shape of the church meant that the acoustics the choir sounds like it is filled with hundreds. It was a beautiful mass in the most beautiful church. The sun opened up after mass and we journeyed to Cana.
In Cana we stopped at a church that was built over the site of Jesus first miracle - water into wine... As King Missile once sang... Jesus was so cool he turned water into wine and if he wanted he could have turned weed into marijuana and vitamins into amphetamines Jesus was so cool! We were all blessed to find good spouses... Suz next to me had her fingers crossed!! ; ))
Next to Nazereth where we walked through a replica town. It replicated the heat too - it's 39 degrees today. In the evening we had the chance to meet up with some of the youth that meet at church of the annunciation - built on Mary's house. The life of a young Israeli Arabic Catholic is not to be envied. Certainly makes you thankful for the religious freedom we have in Australia. My religion doesn't prevent me from education, land and human rights... I do live in the lucky country.
On the bright side 19 year old boys are identical regardless of their country of birth... They still thang around their slightly beat up second hand wrxs with their stereos pumping to impress the ladies! Too funny!
