Salvador: Candomble ceremony
We attended as guests a candomble ceremony in Salvador. Candomble is the Afro-Brazilian religion, and the video shows the first part of the ceremony where the dancers sing and dance to invoke the spirits. Later the dancers dress up as the various gods, and go into a trance when the spirits possess them. The ceremony goes on the entire night, but we left after about 3 hours just as the 2nd part of the ceremony was beginning.
