Very moving scene - this is where the poor Aussies and Kiwis tried to crawl across the stony beach and up the steep cliffs on the other side. Amazingly some of them made it to the targeted hill Chunnuk Blair and captured it from the Turks. The English then took command of Chunnul Blair and lost the hill a few days later. Sadly many of our best young men (more than 2000 over the whole campaign a huge number for our small country) died on the beach.
