The beginning of Sao Paulo was a bit hectic as I arrived to the bus terminal in the evening at dark. There was no Wifi, so I asked where I could go to get WIFI for an uber and the guy at the Info desk informed me about a Burger King across the street. It took me a while to find, had gone up and down elevators, asked other Info people who wouldn't help, but finally got there and finally got Wifi. There were a lot of people around as it was a metro stop plus a bus terminal and many homeless people, but thankfully my uber came and I was off to my hotel. Driving through the city of Sao Paulo, I could tell the difference was that it was dirtier and more people, more chaotic. When I got to my hotel, it was not what I was expecting, but am also always surprised when I first arrive to my hotel or hostel (no matter the case - if I had done a lot of research or not). I checked in and got up to my room and was so ready to do some yoga as I hadn't been able to do any in Rio. So I did a nice practice and had my own big room which was perfect but then the Wifi wasn't acting that great so I finally fell asleep around 1am as I waited for the Wifi most of the time. I was trying to save some money by not getting another Sim card, but it takes a lot of time sometimes when you rely on Wifi so it would have been worth it after all. I woke up to go on the free walking tour at 11am. Met an Australian girl at first and then ended up becoming friends with her and a few other people staying at the same hostel as hers (a guy from Belgium, girl from Germany, guy from Germany). As well as a very sweet Irish couple and a guy from LA who I ended up meeting up with that night to watch some Jazz. Before Jazz, I met up with the others at their hostel and we played some beer pong while sipping on Caipirinahs. It was a fun night and I went to bet late again so slept in and then went to try to get an adapter but couldn't find it anywhere and went to another walking tour in another part of the city (downtown). Everyone I was with the night before was also on he same tour which was funny and I met another girl from Turkey. Some of us went to get those big famous balogne sandwhiches and then I met up with Dev who had also gone to Sao Paulo a few days before. We went to a few coffee shops and walked around another part of Sao Paulo called Itaim discussing India and how we are going to meet up there in early December. He had to catch a flight that night so I went back to pack and the next morning went to the Japanese village for some coffee and pastries that were delicious and to my surprise ran into a cosmetics store that was named Audrey, I got an uber to the airport right on time and I was off to Iguazu Waterfalls on the Brazil side.
Iguazu
I arrived to Iguazu airport in the early afternoon and the shuttle driver was there to pick me up. I booked a nice resort hotel as I wanted to treat myself and it was right next to this bird park that I wanted to go to that afternoon so I checked in and walked to the bird park. I was amazed by the birds at this park, so beautiful and different looking, I loved every minute walking through that park. I thought about my Nana the entire time because she loved birds so much. When I got back, I was able to talk to the manager and change rooms as I had booked a double room and they put me in a room with a two twin beds and the Wifi wasn't great. So I changed rooms and got dinner and then went to work out in the gym. I was so happy to have a gym/tredmill finally, it had been months since being in a gym. I did some computer stuff and then went to bed since I had to meet up with Chantel at 10:30 to go to the Argentina side of the waterfalls. The buffet breakfast hit the spot and she came to the hotel to drop her stuff off and we went to the waterfalls. The Iguazu Waterfalls were so beautiful and powerful, it was so much fun going on the safari boat and basically under the waterfalls, got soaked. But then my phone's screen got messed up so that was disappointing and I turned it off right away. We went to the main attraction, Devils punchbowl but had to take a train there. There were these animals all around trying to eat out food and it took a while to get there, but it was totally worth it. Finally got back to get some dinner and put my phone in rice and then we drank two bottles of wine and sat out by the pool and had a nice girl talk. She slept over and we got up early to check out and go to drop off our luggage at her hostel and then went to the Brazil side which was not as good and you had to take a bus but the views were beautiful and then I had to leave early afternoon for my flight to Buenos Aires. The border crossing was the easiest in Brazil, no lines whatsoever, but the car line in Argentina took at least 20 minutes every time and you can drive through as you show your passport which is crazy. The airport at Iguazu was small and took forever to do anything, and I couldn't use my phone since it had to be in rice so that really sucked. But I finally arrived in Buenos Aires, after sitting on a place next to a sick father and young boy coughing the entire time. The über got me and thankfully didn't get the $30 shuttle, just got an uber for $13. Arriving at the hostel was shocking because there was no sign and it looked s***ty but the address was right. The über lady was from Venezuela and nice enough to call and confirm the correct location and so I went up and rang the door and was let inside. I checked in and the room he gave me was right at the entrance of the reception so I asked for a quieter room and thankfully was taken to the back with a bigger shower because the bathroom in the first room had the shower basically right next to the toilet. Very odd but it worked out fine once I changed rooms.
