Hi sweetheart, its Sunday 14th and I have sent you a couple of text messages this week and having been watching this site for anyupdates but haven't seen or heard from you since the 8th ? - hope you are well and just too busy having fun - but would be nice just to receive a text or update your journal so I know you are safe.
Love you lots and thinking about you. luv mummy xx
Mummy
hi sweetheart it was so lovely to see you in Melbourne and Sydney and I was so pleased that you were looking fit and healthy and have made some great friends. I hope Phil reads this and says a big thanks to his mum and dad for looking after you and Phil is welcome to come and stay with us anytime - and Kate and Sophie.
Sounds like you had a fun time in Sydney after we left - and you were mad enough to go back up that tower and go on the simulator after it made me feel so sick last year ! The zoo sounds fun, I will have to go there next time. Take care in Byron Bay, I hear there are a lot of druggies up there so look out and make sure you lock up your personal possessions - all the time !
Everyone back here sends their love. I saw big Dom last night in the bistro and he says he has a great laugh reading your journal but he hasn't worked out how to post a message yet as the 'post a message' box only shows up if you enter this site using the following prompt: www.statraveljournals.com/ashleyhurrell - so that's how you all post these messages folks ! so no excuses you can all get and speak to ashley now !
After we left you we had a few days in Bangkok before coming home - it was 40 degrees and I have never sweated like I did there - you know mum - I don't do sweating !! and it was horrible. But we managed to laze by the pool for a couple of hours and Ihad some beautiful dresses made up in just 36 hours so that was worth it. It was great to pick up Max and have him home, but I think he loved his holiday, he had so much attention and Kang and clive had so many volunteers who wanted to have him to stay. But it has been manic here, the study is being decorated so I have taken over the kitchen table with all my work for a few weeks, the big oaks at the bottom of the garden are being crowned and thinned today and the coving man is repairing the coving, so have become an hourly tea lady ! It is lovely and sunny here and starting to feel more summery now. Hope you have a lovely time in Byron Bay - watch the drinking games though as too many in one night will do your liver no good (I know I promised not to go on about your liver and your spending - but I couldn't help just one little comment). I must admit I was pleased to see how fit you were looking and lovely and tanned and how your hair has grown back, you looked the same old Ashley we know and love ! Take care sweetheart, keep up the journals so I know where you are and have a fantastic time while you are free !!!
lots of love mummy and Stevo xxx - and max !
Kang
Hi Ash, I've just read your latest tome, you're certainly hooked aren't you. Will we recognise the old Ashley when you get home? or have you changed a lot? Max is going home tomorrow, he's so lovely and we've had some really good walks. The weather has been better the last couple of days, it actually feels like Spring. Mum is coming down tomorrow to pick Max up. Everyone here is fine, James has started his driving course again, just finishing the first week. He has had some good drives. Tim has just bought a computer and they're getting broadband so James will be able to send you messages more easily. Make the most of it. Take care, love Kang (and Clive & Max) xxx

Hey Ash, I havnt been on the site for a while, as have been at home for easter for a month and diddnt getv round to it, but been back at uni now for a week, and getting ready for exams, ive been revising today(so boring) and thought id take a quick break and get updated on what my big bro has been up to, and oh my god you have definately been busy, I was only meant to take a 20 min break and ive now been on your site for about an hour, absolutely wetting myself at the stories, the pictures are amazing as well. And guess what, me Nicky and Elle just a few days ago booked a 3 week trip to Borneo in begining of June, I made sure I would be back for when you get back, but how random is that, that you were gonna go out there.
My Birthday was a good night out, Sarah did get wasted though and we had to go somewhere else as she couldnt get in. But it was so nice before as we went to Apartement 26 and everyone was in there, apart from you, I kept on thinking to myself as I was looking around 'Whos missing' and it was you. I kept thinking you were at the bar or just in the loo.
Well better get back to the revision. But love you loads and keep up the partying. when is the actual date that you are coming back, or dont you know yet. Lots of Love Nou.xxxxxx ps, thae little dog looked so cute.xxxxxxx

Hi sweetheart I love the photos especially the sunset ones. Seems like you have met so many people along the way, I hope you are learning from this experience. Looking forward to seeing you somewhere in Oz over the next couple of weeks, let me know where you are likely to be around Fri. 21 April as we fly into Melbourne that day, but if we miss you we will catch up with you in Sydney. Have you been into see the guys in the Melbourne office yet, they are on St. Kilda road, so not far from where you are staying ? Also, sorry to say it, but can you check your personal email as there is an update from your 'finance Manager' on your fund situation - or lack of it !!!
Take care, pleased to see your hair has grown back, big hugs very soon, luv Mum and Stevo xxx

Ash, Thanks for the texts you sent recently it makes my day to think about all the things your up to and takes my mind of the boring things im usually doing. Wish I was out there experiencing all the great things your getting up to, maybe when we are both retired and if we are still single we can do it all over again. Went out for a bit on Anouskas birthday in Southampton which was good and had a mental one in Bournemouth last night with all the lads. There was about 14 of us out and I only saw Jon when I was leaving TOKO at 03.00hrs and he was just going in with Jim Hendry. Tim is back to his old self after all the issues with Lauren and them breaking up, so he was fairly up for it lastnight. It was a shame you were not there and you did get mentioned quite a bit, especially by the door staff at FYEO. They said "wheres Ashley, since he left the girls take home wages have dropped massively" (joke). Mate txt me the date you are back so I can organise a bit of a gathering for your return. Anyway I wont go on, because im sure you woulkd rather be out in the sunshine than sitting here reading this. Take care bud and we can catch up soon. Love you man, Jimbo
Jen And Toby
Wow this site is sensitive - I only wrote 'my ears pr1cked up'!! How funny......
Jen & Toby
Just to say Ash, you are the best - you've got to go into travel writing (don't worry Nan, I'll get my red pen out and correct the spellings!). My ears really pricked up when I read the bit about the rugby players in Singapore and the island adventure sounded fantastic - what a lot of great memories you are going to have (if you haven't dissolved your memory in vodka!) We're all so pleased you write some much and you need to make sure someone prints them off so you can keep them forever. Anyway have a fab time in Oz and I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures - make sure you include the rugby players ;-). Lots of love always Jen (and her absent sailor) xxxxxxxx

Hi Ashley, I've just been reading your latest report, I was nearly as excited as you are by everything you're doing. You certainly seem to be making lots of new friends and this message board is a brilliant way of keeping in touch. We're going to Mum and Stephen's on Monday with Jen and I'm hoping to see Anouska. Of course Nanny and Grandad and Uncle Buck will be away. We've got Max next week (in fact 3 weeks) so at least I shall be getting some exercise. I just hope the weather improves, it's been so cold. Clive's fine, he's doing quite a lot of fencing again now, James helped him one day and Toby another. James and Amy are coming over on Sunday for a quick visit, it will be nice to see Amy, she's been away for quite sometime now. I'll get James to put a message on on Sunday when he can use my computer. Well, enjoy Oz and keep up the reporting - perhaps you could be a travel journalist!! with a little help on the spelling!! Take care, keep safe, love Kang (and Clive) xx
Nanny & Grandad
Hi Sweetheart, I check you website everyday,I was looking forward to reading the one that you lost, it sounded great. Hope you can manage to do it again, keep on saving it as you go along, I sometimes have to do that because I press the wrong button and lose everything I have done. Generally when that happens it has been a masterpiece and I cannot re-create it again. We are going to Belgium for Easter, just the 3 of us, cannot compete with what you are doing. Hope you enjoy Singapore, its a place I would like to visit. I am pleased you are meeting up with Mummy, it will be nice for you and her. James came for lunch on Friday and he went out with Anouska on her birthday. Love you lots. Take care. N & G
Mummy
Sorry forgot to tell you Jon and Lou are in Egypt at the moment with their Mum. She booked a hotel in the dessert miles away from any clubs and bars so Jon couldn't go out drinking !!! But knowing Jon he will manage to find some entertainment and I think he is looking forward to the diving on the Red Sea.
Also the villa in the South of France has changed. We are no longer buying one near Cannes, but on the Cap D'Antibes instead - very nice ! will fill you in on the details when we see you.
I am changing my car again - and going back to my old one as I preferred it !! same car, it hadn't been sold in the garage, so we are buying it back !! all fun and games here, no surprises there. Take care, luv you, mummy xxxxx
