Bonjour b****es!!!!!!!
Right things have been mental and given i`ve missed todays sightseeing trip through a hangover I finally have a free day to tell you what the hells been going on and i`ll warn you this is going to be a long one.......
Tuesday,New York city:
got up bright and early and literally blitzed midtown manhatten, must have walked about 20 miles. Saw the Chrysler building and made our way to grand central station-it`s just trains and s***-but its alright!!! saw the United nations and all that and eventually made our way to the top of the rockerfella center which is like the 2nd biggest skyscraper in New York, the views up there were absolutely amazing could see for miles. I should also mention it was 95 degrees which given i was wearing jeans made the whole experience a bit of a mission but i perservered and was rewarded with a nap under a tree in central park haha.walked the whole of 5th avenue pretty much and saw all the shops and the plaza which leads onto central park which is a beautiful place plenty of stuff going on and its enormous. went into the nba store which is where my mega spending started-must have spent $270 on clothes so far from different places, very nearly bought a leather hugo boss jacket in Bloomingdales haha. Tuesday night found a great little bar with an amazing juke box where this Polish barmaid got us both absolutely mortalled.jaegerbombs are a big deal over here so had about 5 of those and god knows how many sambucas. This lead to us thinking walking 25 blocks back to the hotel at half 2 in the morning was a good idea. Was walking down 5th ave and there was not a soul in sight, saw like 3 homeless people-the city that never sleeps my ass.Thought there would be people in New York at all hours.
Wedneday:
Got ourselves up and onto the subway-Christian was s***ting his pants haha!!!Got off and mistakenly walked straight onto the staten island ferry which much to our dismay didnt stop at liberty or ellis island which meant we had to make an hour round trip on a freezing ferry at 10 in the morning with a horrendous hangover.Eventually made our way onto the proper ferry which took us past liberty island and onto ellis island but not before i offended all the locals by impersonating a statue which was a memorial to all the navy offices which died in the war or something. The statue of liberty is........very small and not in the location you think it is when you watch films and stuff, still pretty cool like given how old it is and how detailed it is. Then Ellis island where all the immigrants used to be held in quarantine back in the day.Heard it was meant to be very upsetting and a bit freaky but i got none of that at all, actually thought it was very boring and we left soon after we got there but that may have been the hangover draining any human emotion from me haha. Went to ground zero after that which is now a very busy building site so couldnt see into it as there were fences and s*** around it. Went into the memorial gallery though across the street which was really errie and a bit disturbing. They have this thing were you can listen to all the radio conversations the firefighters were having when they were trying to rescue people and all of a sudden they all cut off suddenly which is obviously when the towers came down and the guys in the building all died. Theres also pictures of those that lost their lives with dedications from family members,Pictures of the day itself and video coverage as well as pieces of the actual building which is really strange. Both felt pretty down after that as it is upsetting without wanting to sound like a p**** but the mad thing is trying to imagine the towers occupying the space they were in as its not that big yet the two allest skyscrapers in new york were there-very odd. Went to wall street after that then headed back to the hotel.
Thursday:
The weather was crap and has been ever since so just went to macys and did some shopping which was made all the more entertaining by Christian having some stomach troubles shall we say hahahahaha. Went to Hooters at lunch which was OK wasn`t that impressed if you know what i mean ;-). Walked past Mark from Ugly Betty on the street who did the gayest talk the hand type thing as he minced past me. We went to this wine and chocolate bar at night for a laugh given everywhere else was shut after we`d been to tribeca for a few drinks. I got a wisky and Chris bought a truffle(such a homo haha) and two irish coffees which cost $60 overall!!!!!!!! to say our faces dropped would be an understatement, skulked off home after that for an early night as we were meeting the tour in the morning.
Friday:
Got up at supid o clock and met with our tour group in the morning who are all..........Australian!!! cant bloody believe it, I was hoping for a bit of a repreieve given i`m going to be spending a year surrounded by them haha. Everyone seems pretty cool theres a few english.I would say perhaps its 50-50 boys and girls.
Made our way up to Boston which is in my top 2 cities i was desperate to visit given all the Irish that are there and its home of the celtics-the greatest basketball team in the world no less!!! To sum it up it is the greatest place in the world I`m seriously considering moving there when this is all over. It puts New York to shame such an amazing atmosphere, there notoriously aggressive but its all good banter. Saw all the places where they filmed the Departed which was pretty cool and its also the home of the bar from cheers where we eat on the Saturday. Had our 1st group meal at this restaurant called d*** where basically the idea is the staff act like a set of.....d*** !!!! So the insults were flying and was good craic and ended up going to this bar afterwards where the drinks were flowing unfortunately so was my old nemesis lady tequilla so needless to say we were all wasted.
Saturday:
Had to get up at a ridiculous hour with the worlds worst hangover Christian was wetting himself at the sight of me I was that bad I don`t evenr emember getting up and onto the bus. Crashed in McDonalds for a while then blitzed the sightseeing in the morning so we could return home at about 1ish where i slept for the rest of the day. The final game of the Celtics vs Bulls playoffs was on Saturday night-in Boston so the streets were packed and the atmosphere was amazing especially whent the Celtics won it went off big time. I was wearing my newly acquird celtics t-shirt so people were coming up to me and there was a few high fives flying around. Went to the bathroom though and this rather emotional and wasted celtics fan came up to me and hugged me mid piss screaming in my ear like Joe from Family Guy giving it all "f*** yeah, celtics man wooooooooo, come in for the real thing" slightly offputting given my predicament at the time. Lots of hot girls in Celtics jerseys and stuff which was very pleasing especially the three cowgirls in daisy duke esque hotpants that came were giving me free beer, got a photo with them for the companies website they were working for as well-good times......
Got to Quebec Sunday after a 10 hour drive-very beautiful place with very very very beautiful people. Everyone speaks french and clearly looks after themselves, I know this sounds very pervy but even the tour guide whos been here like 20 times was walking around with his jaw on the floor everywhere we went. Went to this bar after the group meal which was like Tokyo in Newcastle-great music, cheap drinks i think in the 2 hours we were there in order to overcome our fatigue me and chris has 2 beers,6 rum and cokes and 7 shots. Went to this 3 story club afterwards which was immense the music was spot on all daft punk, chemical brothers type mixes. Again pretty cheap considering and wall to wall hotness i`ve never seen so many model esque girls in such a confined area the only way to describe it is ridiculous. Had a top night one of the best ive ever had in my life never danced as much since Ibiza probably. Suffering today but coming round, its half 3 in the afternoon and chris is still in bed haha taking it easy until we get to toronto now though got a 3 course meal in a fancy revolving restaurant tonight so looking forward to that.
To wrap up we`re having a great time so many funny things have hapened but you`ll have to ask me what in a private message and other stuff you would probably have to be here for it to make sense and find it funny. I`m in love with Boston the transition to live there would be so easy everyones like minded and just has a great atitude-its very real theres no fake niceness you get everywhere else, also its home to about 20 universities such as harvard and MIT so there roughly 250,000 students at any one time living here which is just amazing-you know what im talking about hahaha. Looking back not sure i really like New York, the sights and everything are sweet but once you`ve seen them you`ve seen them. I didnt find it as amazing as people were telling me it was. Everyones foriegn as well didnt speak to one american the whole time i was there which i really didnt like-its very touristy. Oh i`ve just remembered something I have a huge issue with abercrombie and fitch store on fith avenue. I was told I had to go as it was like a club and all the stuff were crazy hot however we walk in(its 95 degrees btw and im wearing jeans so im a bit narky anyway)and some dude with no top on comes up to me and is all "hey man" and starts dancing in front of my face-wtf are you doing!! full of dudes and had like 3 women on the staff and only 1 was good looking one but it was like they were all on acid and i`d walked into some wierd homosexual swingers club. Also the clothes are crap...rant over haha.
I`ve forgotten quite a lot of funny moments so either ask me later on or check christians blog other than that i will update when i remember. Missing you guys and girls though but having a great time and I don`t have swine flu yet (everyone was wearing masks in New York-so paranoid about it over here)so happy days. Much Love and peace out xxxx
