To be honest, there is not much to report from Dahab...because we really didn't do much! It was just good to relax and Dahab was the setting to do it.
Each night we wined & dined at the beachside open air restaurants. Each is so desperate for business that we were able to negotiate free mezze, free dessert, free tea/coffee and free sheesha, plus a 10% discount on the main course. We tried all kinds of weird and wonderful Egyptian dishes: kofta, kabab, baba ganouj, rabbit tajine, fresh seafood and lots of lentil soup. We never failed to have an army of cats under our feet finishing off the scraps.
One of the few things we did do was take a camel ride to the beach where we drank sweet Bedouin tea and watched the sunset and lights of coastline of Saudi Arabia...wrapped in blankets from the camel seats because the winds were 20+kmph!
While in Dahab we couldn't miss the opportunity to do some snorkeling in the red sea. The most popular spot called 'Blue Hole' is exactly that- a huge circular chunk of reef which drops straight off. Thank god they had wetsuits for hire!
After four days it was very sad to get back on the bus to Cairo!
