Mont Tremblant, Quebec
Hey all
Indeed if you heard of all the crazy things I`ve been doing you can be sure that God`s been taking good care of me. Today, to say the least, I`ve been snowboarding!!!!!Yes, I got all the gear, a cool board that matched my jacket (of course) and headed for the slopes for my first snowboarding lesson - needless to say, I fell over quite a number of times and admittedly it`s my knees that are sore rather than my derriere as was expected but I can proudly announce I am now able to manoeuvre and speed and slow down with class (of the very small slope - but who cares) - you should all be very proud of me. Photos to prove coming up - YAY!!!
However, this was kinda nothing compared to the absolute terror I`ve previously been through went through when rafting down some high slopes at the Winterparc - which of course made me temporarily lose my glasses and go into shock. (sorry ollie, didn`t need the head down and feet up) but it was harrowing enough. However, the coolest thing there must have been the tornado!!! similar raft but circular so it makes you spin as you go down and you don`t even notice the bumps and how high you are - those who know my and their own absolute terror at heights will understand the internal agony I went under before it but it was absolutely fantastic in the end. You ended up deliriously dizzy and laughing so much you couldn`t stand up. with all eight of us of the tour in together - it was incredible and a great bonding time for us. I`d thorougly recommend to all. We also went to the famous Ice Hotel near Quebec. It`s incredible. The sculptures are fabulous and we even got to go in the rooms. The best thing about it of course is the cool club - literally cool. It has funked up music too which is at the next level. Totally recommend!
Oh - just in case some of you didn`t know , I`m currently in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada doing a 7-day tour around the Eastern cities and exploring the various attraction starting and finishing in Toronto. (I can`t believe it either) I`m with a random group of people from Wales, UL, Australia, France/Germany (last two - complicated) who are all wonderful. We`ve really gelled as a group and totally look out for each other. Think I`m gonna be hanging out with the French/German couple and one of the English guys after this tour i.e. Niagra & Vancouver - Allery, hanging with your girl, sounds great- Is may ok?
I have to say by far the best place we`ve been must be Quebec. We stayed there a couple of days and it`s old town and sights are truly magnificent. Indeed everywhere we go is off the wall but it does top it.
Going to Ottowa tomorrow via a Canadian National wildlife park which should be interesting. Caribou, Moose, Elk, Beavers, wolves, (possibly bears). They say it`s gonna be -10° AHHHHHH!!!!!! ou bbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We`ve actually had the best weather for everything we`ve done which has been well good. Even seeing the falls at Montmerency and crossing the Suspension bridge over the frozen Saint Laurent river was fine in the drizzle.
Hope all is good with all of you. I guess I`m gonna need the job descriptions emailed to me Ollie, so I can start applying for Jobs when I get back - although applying for jobs and coming back to England is kinda the last thing on my mind (as you can all imagine).
Today - Canada is the most beautiful place on earth. Today, I snowboard is all I want to do. Today - You must always have fun wherever I go.
Love to you all and take care!!!
