Hi all Gem here,
Sorry its been a long time since the last blog entry bi\ut we have been so busy and internet cafes have become more expensive. So what have we been doing...
Well we drove over the sydney harbour bridge at sunset before reaching newcastle, where we learnt to surf. The teacher was very good lookin but this didnt help our surfing technique and we all sucked! We then treted ourselevs to the most amaing pizzas in the world they were topped with cream cheese! Yum!
After Newcastle we hit the Hunter Valley for a sophisticated day of wine tasteing and chocolate eating it was all very yummy! After annoying the poor fudge lady by demanding to try every single flavour before we bourght we tucked into the most amazing fudge in the world! After the hunter valley we headed to Stockton Bight to climb hugemungous sand dunes and then roll down then whilst dodgeing camels!
Coffs Harbour followed where we had the hottest day so far, we dealt with this by sitting all day on the beach under umbrellas of course! At coffs harbour we went to Pet Porpoise Pool where we kissed by seals and dolphins, we also hand fed giant scarey fish, sea turtles and penguins!
After a few stops in some random towns we hit Byron for Australia Day, unfortunately it rained most of the day, Nath and I decided to climb out to the lghthouse and we were well rewarded with views of dolphins, sea turtles, sting rays and amazing honey comb icecream!
Next key stop was Surfers... Brash and trashy but good fun, we spent a day at the beach batteling the strong waves trying not to get sucked out to sea! However a day at the beah comes with a downside - major sunburn!
After Surfers we went to wet n wild for some good ole fashioned water park action, it rained all day but that didnt matter as we were already soaked from the rides, again more sunburn!
Next we paid hommage to the late Steve Irwin and visited Aus zoo, where they walk round with all the animals on leads! We watched the legendary croc show where a man dices with death with a huge croc! Steves family seem to have launche into every avenue of entertainment wth his daugther realeaseing a range of songs, her ear splitting voice will haunt me in my sleep for months to come!
Finally our whistle stop trip has bourght us to Fraser Island, I wont go into to much detail but we have just got back and are knakered, 3 days of off road driving, beach camping and dingo dodgeing! We swam alot in beautiful lakes and champage sea pools! It was great fun and im seriously thinking of investing in a 4x4 and hitting the beach when I get home for some sand slideing!
Hope your all well!
Much love
Gem
