Well we are now in Acapulco, or just about to leave. It's fab here, took at least the first day for me to adjust i.e. i had been a bit of a baby and sobbing because i'm a little home sick. After arriving at the first hotel which was a bit of a hovel, we realised that absolutely no one spoke any English, ok we are in Mexico but we thought that Acapulco would be tourist orientated enough to have some English speaking individuals. However with some Spanish i learnt and a lot of laughter we managed to navigate ourselves around, check out 4 other hotels before settling with a nice little one, excellent location just across the road from the beach. We have air con and a cable tv (watched Notting Hill this evening). Ok so we can't figure out the difference between travelling and holidaying yet but i'm sure we'll get there tee hee. So far we have lazed around in the sun and been to watch the amazing cliff divers. They jump off a 25 - 30 foot cliff after having climbed up using nothing but hands and feet, into the rough waters below. They're actually jumping into what looks like a raging rock pool of water. Absolutely amazing. It was dark when they did it so they were illuminated so we could see them. Needless to say they pray at a small shrine before they jump. Elvis Presley did the same thing in a film he made called 'Fun in Acapulco, i think!!??!!! We're moving on to Puerto Escodido tomorrow so i'll update you with more.
