It was jasmines birthday on thursday so we had a BBQ and then went to the local club, Via Via and did some interesting dancing to the 'sound of the serengeti'! Jambo! Sooo, where to start! Yesterday was our first day in the hospitals, and it is just mindblowing. The sanitation and the condition of the wards is just so different. At the moment i am on obstetrics and that is pretty crazy! About 10 women all lying naked in beds all giving birth in front of each other and me stood in the middle catching babies! No pain relief and you are lucky if you hear a peep out of any of them, puts us brits to shame. However, due to ...

Hello! Just a quick update as my time is running out! Today we went to the snake park and i held snakes and rode a camel!! We also had a tour around the traditional massi villages and chatted (and had our photo taken) with a massi man! The journey there and back we saw lads of villages and slum type places so really starting to see the culture now and i love it! Food continues to be exceptional :-) I have spent the last couple of hours swimming and tanning in...

Hello from Arusha!! Got here safely, although the plane journey was an experiance!! Wrong flights, angry tanzanian women, (assumed) lost bags but ok plane food! Arrived at the house in gorgeous sunshine, and the house is lovely too! The staff have made us feel so welcome and we had a fab bbq last night, with loads of kebabs and salads and toasted marshmellows :-) We woke up this morning to it absolutly pouring down so we had a nice breakfast of fresh fruit off ...

So, contrary to what i said, i have managed to pack everything nicely into 2 huge bags and only managed to forget all my nursing equipment and placement documents...fab!! Currently sitting in St Albans in the sun waiting to be flown across the world to Tanzania!! We have glorious 13 hour flight in the comfort and saftey of Ethiopian Airlines so this could well be my last entry....only joking! i heard they have a superb saftey record and in flight meal so all goo...
