We only stayed in River Valley one night. We stayed in a lodge next to the river, it was really nice and really remote. We had to walk down the hill to the lodge as the bus couldn’t fit down the track. On the way to River Valley we stopped at Tonagrio National Park for a walk. We walked to see the waterfall, which was really nice and refreshing after walking in the heat for an hour.
When we arrived at River Valley we went to our dorm and it was called an ‘orgy dorm’. It was one huge bunk bed which could sleep 16 people in each side, so there were 32 people to one bunk. It was really fun! We all slept on the top together! For tea we had a roast dinner cooked for us, which was lovely. That evening we just sat chatting to people of the bus. We sat on a table with a couple and they went to Lincoln uni, so that was strange! In the morning we decided to skip the activities and just relax at the river. There was a pully over the lake, so we all jumped into the river, which was fun, apart from the fact that I lost my hair band in the river. We then had to walk up the huge hill to get the bus so we all were knackered on the way to Wellington.
