We visited a favella via motorbike! A few holding of breathe holding moments and we both held on very tightly! We visited an artist studio and Ang brought a lovely painting (we are taking bets whether it will get home in one piece!!) Some teenage boys played us some music on their home made drum kit as a little boy sambaed away! We got a water taxi to the very beautiful Lopez Mendes beach where we had some time sunbathing and Ang also did some body boarding! We got to Rio in the early evening and found our bearings near the hotel.

Travelled to Ilhe Grande and after we managed to carry our very heavy bags along a track and the beach we eventually found our hotel. A chilled evening with dinner and drinks with Amy and Celine.

We went on a boat trip around some of the islands. We met Dawn and Celine and had a great evening with yummy ice cream, our favourite flavour being ferrero rocher flavour, and a free pre – carnival concert!

Bus to Parati and an afternoon enjoying the sunshine. A very quaint little place with pretty buildings and cobbled streets, and after dinner we enjoyed having a wonder around
