An early start as we flew up to the north island and spent some time with our friend Jacqui. Lots of catching up and a yummy BBQ! (she even found some shrimps especially for you Sarah and Bobby!)

Hand Moana back day today L We went into Christchurch and saw a couple of acts at the annual Buskers festival. 'The boy with tape on his face' made us both laugh a lot! We also went to the museum, to the 'wearable arts exhibition'. We then took a walk looking at all the buildings that had very visible damage from all the earthquakes. From the edge of the red zone you could see the extent of the devastation and the work that's on going to help. It all felt veryeer...

We drove to Kaikora in plenty of time for our whale watching trip. We made some lunch, did some packing, up dated the blog etc, I even went into where we had to check in and said we was on a trip later on in the afternoon and asked if I could use the toilets.... So just imagine our frustration and annoyance when we went in 2 hours later all wrapped up warm and packed with supplies, to find they hadn't ran any tours that day due to high winds out at sea!! DOH! We...

Our big bike adventure! First stop on our cycles - cloudy bay vine yards, and to be honest after our chilled time in the swings in the grounds with a nice bottle of wine, it took some effort to move on! We visted a fudge shop, another 3 wineries and a cheese shop before heading back. In Ang's words she thinks she won the drinking and I won the biking, she even tried to blame her bike for being so slow! Only slight issue today was she left her camera in that lovel...

We walked to the centre point of New Zealand before heading off to Picton. We had another nice walk, until it got too dark to see so headed back!
