Guys, I am sorry for the woeful reduction in the length of my blogs. The truth is I, as you can imagine, have had limited internet access over the past 2 weeks and there always seems to be people waiting to use the computer behind me. I am currently in manta ray resort, fiji. Yesterday was one of the most awesome days of my life. At 7am the staff began banging the beach drums to notify us that there were giant mantas in the area. Rushing out of bed and gathering our snorkling attire we rode into the pacific and were dropped off above the giant creatures. We snorkled with them for about an hour, it was an incredible, unique experience.
In the afternoon we decided to go on a fishing trip for 60 fijian dollars (20 quid). On light tackle intenended to hook the odd tuna we snagged a huge sailfish that was too bog and dangerous (it has a huge sharp bill at the front) to bring on board the boat with the equipment we had available. It was awesome to watch the fastest fish on the ocean on the end of one of our lines. We brought it right next to the boat.
The weather in fiji has not been what I had hoped for. It has been overcast on most days ( I am therefore still not tanned at all). but it is paradise all the same.
Today we are hopping over to octopus resort, probably the best reviewed resort in all the Yesawa island. I am excited!! No doubt we will continue to snorkel and eat huge quantities of fresh seafood with a cold glass of fijian bitter!
What a life ey x
