So it turns out I am not very good at keeping a blog up, having stopped updating it half way through my trip!!
Australia was a big adjustment after a few months in Asia: very different and I certainly wasn't impressed with the weather to start with! Having said that its a beautiful place and I saw a lot of stunning places along the east coast.
My highlights of Australia were definitely: seeing whales sailing round Whitsundays, Fraser Island - so so gorgeous, def one of fave places and met really cool people, Byron Bay - very relaxing, chilled out place, Sydney - stayed with family friends, was lovely to have a proper home to stay in for a bit, harbour is beautiful and my birthday!!, Melbourne - meeting Karl Kennedy!!woop woop!!
I then flew to South America... after a brief stop over in Santiago... I began my trip from Buenos Aires. Unfortunately because of flight delays etc... I only had one day to race around the whole city... shame because it was really interesting... dancing and colour in La Boca, yummy street food on the river, the weirdest grave yard I have ever seen... including the grave of Evita... and best of all the tango show... had some lessons which were hilarious - its so hard!! and then watched how its supposed to be done whilst eating a delicious steak!!
One of the best things was definitely visiting the Iguassu Falls on the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. We saw it from both sides and it was incredible.. so beautiful and we went into a boat right up to the falls and it was so powerful... we were soaked!
In Brazil we went to Paraty..this really cute little colonial town with cobbled streets... before we headed to Ilha Grande. The island was gorgeous... the best beaches ever... after all the recent coldness it was nice to have the opportunity to get a bit of tan back before heading home... and we were staying in the cutest little huts with hammocks outside. I loved it here!!!
And finally Rio!!! I was so disappointed that the weather was bad in Rio... but we still got to see the Christ and the whole city from the top of the sugar loaf mountain!! It was amazing. And copacabana is stunning... and just about got to see it on a nice day, how it should be with ppl surfing and playing volleyball and football, just full of life... only prob is this was just as I was leaving for the airport!!!
And now I am back home in stinky old England. How depressing!! As lovely as it is to catch up with everyone... I adored travelling, saw so many incredicle places and met so many wonderful people and am so sad its all over... will definitely be doing it again... so watch this space....xxx
