Andrea's Adventures
Hi Guys
My trip to Egypt has been truly amazing! It was action packed and non-stop from the start and I got to visit all the sites that were on my long list of things to see. We started off in Cairo and then to Giza to visit the pyramids and how majestic and awe-inspiring they were. I even climbed inside the third pyramid for a look... eek!
We caught the night train to Aswan and visited the many temples in the area. After that we had a relaxing 2 days cruising down the Nile on a felucca arriving at Luxor, visiting a few more temples on the way. We had a morning visiting the tombs at the valley of the kings and the valley of the queens. The delicate and colourful artwork in the tombs was a site to see.
One of the highlights of my trip was flying to Abu Simbel to see the temple of Ramses II and his queen. The temple its self was moved from its original position before the damming of the Nile which over 5 years to achieve. An amazing feet which Im sure you engineers would appreciate.
Then it was off again on the overnight train back to Cairo. We were able to visit the Cairo museum which was jammed packed with fellow tourist. And because of that were unable to visit the mummy room but did get to see all Tutankhamen's treasures.
It was a wonderful trip and we had a great fun group of people on our tour which made it all the more enjoyable.
