Hi All,
Just another brief update as I am on the computer, & have been for the last 3 hours trying to sort out my university enrolments and timetable. It is an absolute nightmare. It is now 3.30am & I am so totally over it all, but i still have time left on the internet so I'm going to use it!
However since Venice was only a couple of days ago I dont really have all that much to say. The dinner in Venice that night was a 4 course meal, & as all of our dinners have been it was a fantastic meal. The following day we drove for ages until we arrived in Vienna.
Our hotel in Vienna was by far the nicest one we've had, and probably will have. It had a pool and sauna and everything, however they were much stricter on noise levels than previous hotels have been. That night half of the group drank alot at an aussie pub to celebrate australia day, while the other half had dinner and a mozart concert. I dont really think we could have been doing two more different things, but we were!
The next day was the worst weather we have had on the tour, it was cold wet and windy. I honestly believe the wind got to 80km/hr. we chose quite wisely to spend the day mostly indoors. My group visited an art museum, then the summer palace of the monarchy in austria, & then finally the group excursion to the schnapps museum where we were able to try all the different flavours. needless to say it warmed everyone up, and it suddenly didnt seem quite so cold.
We then branch out for dinner & a group of us girls went to the nearby shopping centre & found a sushi train, all you could eat for 9.90, which was amazing. definitely better than what you get for 9.90 at primo!
Then today we drove from Vienna to Munich. We stopped at Mauthausen which was one of the concentration camps during Hitlers reign. It was quite a confronting experience expecially for those who didnt know what to expect or knew nothing about it previously.
Once in Munich I rushed to see the Sophie Scholl memorial and got the chance only because they were holding a meeting in there, & it was technically closed, however I convinced them with my amazing german skills & the fact that I'm leaving tomorrow to let me see it. & they did! I then shopped for a bit before meeting with my host family again for the last supper. It was great to see them one more time, but sad to have to say goodbye once again.
Finally we drank German beer at the Hofbrauhaus until close and then since then I've been on here proving how computer illiterate i really am.
But until next time, all the best, & if I dont talk to you before hand, I will see you on the 8th when I arrive home!
