So it is ten minutes before the new year here in Massachusetts and I am setting up this blog to share the next 6 months with you all. The site is a little confused because it thinks I have already left so don't mind the awkwardness.

My last night home has been a little disappointing due to earlier events but I am sort of happy nevertheless. I am so ready to leave the snow though!

When I arrive in Ecuador tomorrow it will be about 10:30 at night. From what I have seen from the weather reports it will be rainy for at least the first week I am there with a few lighting storms. Hopefully that does not interfere with my flight. I should be picked up by my host family or someone from IES. My back is jam packed full and I will be getting rid of some things before I move on to Panama.

I do not know much about what to expect as of now. I know little about my host family but they seem great. I will be staying with a couple Paulina and Ivan, and their three kids Carla who is 22, Pamela who is 21, and Nicolas who is 20. I am very excited that they are all my age. I think it will be more fun. But other than their names and ages I know nothing else!

I hope everyone has a great new year and I will try to update this blog as much as possible. I will not be bringing my laptop and I plan to use as little english as possible while traveling. So if I were to use only spanish only about 5 of you could actually read this :) But I promise I will update when I can and try to make it exciting to read.
